Back when I was just starting the company, my days often consisted of 14 hours of designing, drawing, constantly perfecting the jewelry, handle retailers, working with the factory, and much more, but as the company started to grow, my days seem to have changed a lot. Now when the collection has matured and the online sales is the biggest part of Abelstedt, I now have a bit more time during the days to enjoy life besides to the company.
My Day
8 AM
I wake up and often clean my apartment in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, followed up by checking and responding to emails with a cup of tea next to me. I wish that I could be better at just checking my emails once in the morning and once at night to make sure that my emails do not dictate my day. This is something I’m going to work on.
9 AM
I eat my breakfast as late as I can since I often do not enjoy my breakfast just after waking up. At the moment, I eat oatmeal with cinnamon, peanut butter, and berry compote.
10 AM
More work by the computer, taking phone calls, and checking up on the next deliveries to all our new lovely customers.
2 PM
Taking a stroll to pick up my two foster dogs, Gaja and Pingus, two cocker spaniels that are almost like my own dogs – they are the best! I cannot fully express how much love they bring me. They really bring me so much joy and calm me during the day. I am too busy to have my own dogs besides traveling much, so this is the perfect way for me to still feel like I have my own two foster babies.
3 PM
Late lunch as always, unless I have a meeting or lunch with a dear friend. My favorite spot to eat lunch here in Copenhagen is definitely Café Promenaden which is located just next to the beautiful Frederiksberg Park.
3:30 PM
I always try to spend at least an hour a day to learn something new. It could be anything from camera knowledge to piano nodes – it really varies a lot. At the moment, I read a book called DotCom Secrets; a business book I really recommend to anyone creating or owning a business.
5 PM
Time for my piano lessons with my sweet pianist teacher! It’s like I walk into another world when playing. Definitely my favorite instrument.
6 PM
Time to go get groceries for dinner with my beloved boyfriend, Oliver.
8 PM
Going for drinks with friends. My favorite place to get drinks at a Friday night is at the Brønnum bar just next to The Royal Theater in downtown Copenhagen.
11 PM
Doing late night work. I often feel most creative when it’s late at night as there is a certain of silence and everything around me is standing still.
0:30 AM
Time to call it a day!
Lots of kisses,
Julie
