Engraving - how it works
Choose up to 2 initials. Our engraver will hand-engrave your initials on the outer side of the piece as shown. There is no longer an extended delivery time, even if you choose engraving.

The tape method
1. Take a tape measure, string, or a strip of paper.
2. Wrap it around the finger you will wear your ring on (if you're stacking rings, consider where on your finger the ring will sit) and mark where it connects with a pen.
3. Lay your string or paper strip on a flat surface and measure the length up to the mark with a ruler. Use the chart above to match the measurement to the nearest Abelstedt ring size.
Measure an existing ring
1. Choose a ring that already fits the finger well.
2. Measure the inner diameter of the ring in millimeters (mm).
3. Use the size chart above to match the size of your ring to the nearest Abelstedt size in mm.
Buying the ring for her?
It's completely normal not to know her size. Here are the easiest ways to find it, without giving away the surprise.
- 1. Secretly borrow one of her rings
Ideally one she wears on the same finger. Place it on a piece of paper and trace the inside with a sharp pencil, or take a photo of the ring on top of a ruler. Measure the inner diameter and find it in the chart above.
- 2. Ask someone who knows her
A friend, sister or her mum often knows – and can keep a secret.
- 3. Send us a photo
Take a photo of her ring on top of a ruler and send it to us. We'll help you find the right size.
- 4. Make a smart guess
Our best-selling sizes are 52 and 54. If she has slim fingers, go for 50–52, otherwise 54. If you're unsure between two, choose the larger one – a slightly loose ring can be worn, one that's too tight can't.
- 5. Easy size exchange
If you get it wrong, the size can easily be exchanged through our returns portal within 30 days. Please note: engraved rings can't be exchanged, so be extra sure of the size there.
Abelstedt gift tips
- If you are between two sizes, go for the larger size if the ring is wide, and the smaller size if the ring is narrow.
- There isn't a big difference between two consecutive sizes on the size chart. If in doubt, go with your gut feeling. You can always exchange the size through our easy returns portal.
