Borrow One of Her Rings (for a Moment)

This is the method of which you have to be the most careful as it might backfire on you. Make sure that you grab the ring that she usually wears on a similarly sized finger on which she should wear the ring that you are to buy her. Here, the ring finger is usually the best option.

Do this several times to make sure that you ring traces look consistent. Then figure out the diameter in mm and compare it to the diameters stated on the above Abelstedt Size Guide.

Another method is just to ask one of her friends, since girls occasionally have this information on each other. If she doesn’t, maybe you can persuade her to take your girlfriend jewelry shopping and figure out her ring size at a professional to report the size back to you.

When at a Party

If you are at a gathering and of your girlfriend’s friends is wearing a ring, ask her friend to let your girlfriend try on the ring. This will provide you with a good range and basis to start with. This might sound silly, since the chances of her hitting the right size is small, but it is actually a very effective method. Be Subtle
