Experience engagement rings with dazzling sapphires in various colors ranging from deep blue to pink and yellow. Abelstedt has the best selection of sapphire rings.
For a stone that ticks all the boxes for durability, beauty and color range, we recommend the sapphire. A sapphire is the second hardest natural mineral after a diamond, making the sapphire very durable and a perfect choice for everyday use.
Although sapphires are best known for their stunning blue hues, they are available in many other colors, including beautiful tones of green, yellow, pink, orange, black, purple, teal, purple and the most popular white color… that is, any color you can imagine. However, a red sapphire is referred to as a ruby.
The price range for sapphires and rubies varies by their color spectrum. Here at Abelstedt, our gemologists can procur specific sapphires to suit your color, shape and budget.
The sapphire is the second most popular choice of center stone for an engagement ring after the diamond. Not only are sapphire rings beautiful, but they're are also durable and score a 9 out of 10 on the Mohs hardness scale. This means that a sapphire ring is resistant to damage, even when worn every day.
When a white sapphire gets a little dirty, it can lose a small part of its beauty and shine. However, cleaning the stone will bring back its spark.
White sapphires are available in a variety of qualities. Completely clear stones are quite rare, giving them a higher value. Although clear white sapphires look like authentic diamonds, they have a lower price.
Sapphires are formed naturally in all the colors of the rainbow as well as black and colorless. The blue shades are among the best known ranging from dark to light blue. Blue-green, white, pink, green, and yellow sapphires are also popular choices for engagement rings. Rubies are also sapphires, but are called rubies when they are red.
A sapphire ring is a great choice if you are looking for a more affordable price for an engagement ring and you would like a large center stone. Most varieties do not cost the same as the price of a diamond of the same size. The exceptions to this are the larger specimens of the very rare colors such as padparadscha (peach-orange) and blood-red ruby. The value of both of these can compete with the price of a diamond of the same size.
Typically, sapphire engagement rings also consist of diamonds. Whether in a solitaire or a halo design, diamonds are often attached to provide a contrast to the large sapphire center stone. Sapphires look breathtaking in classic, vintage or nature-inspired designs and can be a striking centerpiece in more modern styles.
